Screens at the coast
Window screen cleaning on 30A.
Screens hold salt, sand and pollen right in front of your windows. Washing them brightens the room and keeps that grit off clean glass.
A window screen is a fine mesh a couple of inches from your glass, and on 30A it catches a lot. Wind pushes salt and fine sand into the weave, spring pollen turns it yellow, and the humidity keeps it all damp and clinging. A clogged screen makes a room darker even when the glass behind it is clean.
It also works against clean glass. Every storm shakes some of what's in the mesh back onto the window. That's why screens are an add-on to exterior window cleaning, and the monthly plan includes a screen and track cleaning once a year.
We take screens down, wash the mesh and frames, and put each one back in the opening it came from. Repair isn't part of screen cleaning, but while they're out we'll point out torn mesh, bent frames or missing clips so you can get them fixed.
