Dune Allen is the first stretch of 30A after it leaves US-98, with Topsail Hill Preserve State Park next door to the west. There's no town center. It's houses, many of them right on the Gulf and many rented by the week, with more homes set back around Allen Lake and Oyster Lake.

Houses back by the lakes get much less spray. What they get is damp mornings and irrigation, and the white spots on their lower panes usually come from sprinklers, not the Gulf.
